Parade Organizers

The Council’s mission is to support artistic activity in the Northern Brookhaven area embodying music, film, theater, literature, dance and visual arts and all educational and cultural endeavors as they relate to the arts. This mission is accomplished by coordinating our efforts with arts organizations, artists, local municipalities, schools, art galleries, libraries, theaters and other such organizations within the community that share our common goal.

Heritage Trust is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to enhancing natural resources and the distinctive character of the surrounding communities. Educational, cultural and social events will foster appreciation for the area’s heritage. The Trust was formed to support “smart growth” and to enhance our sense of community.  Volunteers have devoted the time and skills to help create Heritage Park and Heritage Center which will both be enjoyed now and for generations to come.

“We Serve” is the Lions motto.  The RPLC is a fundraising organization serving Mt. Sinai, Miller Place, Sound Beach, Rocky Point, Shoreham, and Wading River donating eyesight care, medical equipment and services to hospitals, financial and medical assistance to local families, financial donations for community programs and scholarships.

The Miller Place Civic Association generally convenes in the Miller Place High School Library at 7:30 PM on the fourth Monday of every month. On occasion when circumstances indicate a larger facility is needed the Miller Place High School Auditorium is used.

The Miller Place Historical Society was founded in 1979. In 1982 the name was changed to Miller Place-Mount Sinai Historical Society to reflect the membership of the Society and the close ties the two communities have had since the 1600s. The mission of the Society is to collect, preserve and disseminate the history of New York State with emphasis on Miller Place, Mount Sinai, and environs. The Society owns two properties with several buildings.

The Mt. Sinai Civic Association plays a vital role in the Mount Sinai community.  The association is involved in zoning issues, land preserva­tion, traffic calming, safety issues and educating the resi­dents about political, educational and social activities.

NSN raises funds to provide non-medical or uncovered support services for local women and men in treatment for breast cancer. NSN helps our neighbors overcome the debilitating effects of breast cancer by providing financial assistance to pay medical bills, living expenses and house cleaning and child care services. In an effort to improve the emotional and wellbeing of those affected by this disease, we also make arrangements for quality of life items such as massage therapy and dinner out.

We are the Port Jefferson Station/Terryville Civic Association; a non profit, non-political association; we are neighbors helping neighbors for the benefit of the whole community.

We work together with residents, other local organizations, and our government officials on issues which make the Port Jefferson Station / Terryville area a place that we can all enjoy as a community and be proud to call our home.

PJVAC provides pre-hospital critical care and transport for the sick and injured within the communities of Belle Terre, Mt. Sinai, and Port Jefferson.  In addition, it offers continuing education and outreach related to safety and wellness in the community.  Volunteer and paid position information can be found on our website.

The Rocky Point Civic Association was founded to promote the welfare and quality of life in Rocky Point and the surrounding community. Meetings are held on the Second Wednesday of each month, 7:30 PM at the RP VFW located on King Road off Broadway.

Our mission is to gather, preserve, display and make available for study artifacts, relics, books, manuscripts, papers, photographs, and other records and materials relating to the history of the State of New York and particularly of Rocky Point and its environs, from earliest times to the present;

Members enjoy camaraderie at weekly meetings and fundraising for worthy causes.  Typical club activities include a work day at Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck, hosting an exchange student, sponsoring a Gift of Life child, local road and beach cleanups, a spring brunch, participating in Career Days at the high schools, co-sponsoring the Port Jeff Biathalon, working on a Habitat build, and other activities.

Rotary Club of Rocky Point was established in June 1979 as a member of Rotary International, the first worldwide Service Organization, founded in 1905 by Paul Harris. The  Rotary Club of Rocky Point meets every Tuesday at 12:15PM at the Sea Basin Restaurant in Rocky Point. Rocky Point Rotary's territory includes Rocky Point, Miller Place, Sound Beach, Shoreham, Wading River and Mt. Sinai. We sponsor annual events and fund raisers to provide service to our community.

The Sound Beach Civic Association invites any citizen of Sound Beach to come down and join our ranks the second Monday of every month, except December, in the upstairs meeting room of the Sound Beach Fire Department at 7:30 PM. Learn what is or will be happening in and around Sound Beach. Learn of the changes that will affect all who live and work in Sound Beach. Speak to elected local politicians, become a part of the process and help make Sound Beach all that it can be.
